A Pop Up Advertising Agency for Nonprofits
For 5 days, top marketing and communications experts will come together in Toronto to help 5 charities maximize their impact.The objective of this initiative, named The Give Agency, is to help charitable organizations by offering them ideas, strategies and tactics on various challenges they’re facing, from branding to events and strategic partnerships. From February 6 to 10, 150 of Toronto’s and Canada’s top advertising, PR, social media and strategy professionals will work with a different non-profit each day to help them brainstorm and develop creative solutions specific to their work.
This idea was first launched in Halifax in 2016 by creative director Brian Hickling, PR specialist Mike Maloney, and filmmaker and strategist Chaz Thorne. “The idea is to create the largest pop-up agency in Toronto that, for a few days, will be devoted to organizations that don’t ordinarily have the means necessary to establish solid communication plans,” said Mike Maloney. A pop-up ad agency focused on providing top-tier work to deserving non-profits at no cost is preparing to bring its services to Toronto.
The Give Agency was first launched last year in Halfiax by creative Brian Hickling (currently a creative advisor and a former CD at Extreme and Publicis), PR and media relations strategist Mike Maloney and creative strategist and filmmaker Chaz Thorne. The three brought together a group of volunteers from across different disciplines to create a pop-up, full service agency that would work with area non-profits to help solve their business problems. Supported by the National Advertising Benevolent Society (NABS), the Halifax initiative worked with Feed Nova Scotia, Habitat for Humanity and Bridgeway Academy. MORE

The Give Agency, the brainchild of Brian Hickling and Mike Maloney, is providing free services over five days (Feb. 22-26) to organizations including Feed Nova Scotia, Habitat for Humanity and Brideway Academy.

The Give Agency and Sun Life Financial Inc. in association with the National Advertising Benevolent Society (NABS) Canada are joining forces to launch one of Toronto's largest creative agencies to help local charities for one week free of charge. For five days in February 2017, The Give Agency, Sun Life Financial and some of Toronto's top marketing and communications experts will come together to help community charities tackle some of their toughest marketing challenges. Open from February 6 through to February 10, The Give Agency is a volunteer-based super team of Toronto's top talent in advertising, PR, social media and strategy. Each day, volunteer "Givers" work collaboratively with a different charity using a high-speed "barn raising" process that directly embeds the client into the curating and harvesting of creative solutions specific to their work. Charities are encouraged to visit www.theGiveAgency.ca to apply by January 20, 2017. Five nonprofit organizations will be selected and each will work with The Give Agency for one day.
